I offer coaching in:

  • Learn-to-Skate & Basic Skills – Building solid foundations, proper technique, balance, and confidence for new skaters.

  • Freestyle (Jumps, Spins, Edges) – Skill development from beginner through advanced elements, with a focus on safe progression and strong technique.

  • Choreography – Custom program creation for freestyle, showcase, and solo dance, emphasizing musicality, expression, and each skater’s unique strengths.

  • Skating Skills / Moves in the Field (Testing Preparation) – Technique-focused training to develop edge quality, power, flow, and precision for all levels of skating skills tests.

  • Solo Dance Coaching & Competition Prep – Pattern instruction, rhythm interpretation, and performance refinement for solo dance events.

  • Ice Dance Pattern Tests – Step accuracy, timing, and edge work for all levels of pattern dance tests.

  • Solo Free Dance Tests – Choreography guidance, musicality, and technique development for solo free dance tests.

  • Power Skating & Skating Skills – Improving speed, control, agility, flow, and overall ice efficiency.

I bring extensive choreography experience to every program I create, with a focus on musicality, expression, and showcasing each skater’s individual strengths. I choreograph programs across multiple disciplines—including freestyle, showcase, and solo dance—and work closely with skaters to develop routines that feel natural, confident, and uniquely theirs. From selecting music and crafting transitions to refining performance quality, my goal is to help each skater connect with their program, tell a story, and shine every time they take the ice.

Hi! My name is Miabella Lovell, I'm a figure skating coach based out of Frederick, Maryland and Wheaton, Maryland. I have a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science, which I use to support my coaching with a strong understanding of motor control and learning, biomechanics, and exercise physiology.

I began skating at 4 years old and went on to compete in Freestyle and Solo Dance at the senior level, where I developed a deep love appreciation for the discipline, creativity, and resilience that the sport inspires. My own competitive journey has shaped my coaching philosophy: to meet every skater where they are, to celebrate progress, and to help them achieve their goals while fostering an environment that the skater feels supported and inspired. 

In addition to coaching, I’ve also stepped into the world of show skating, performing in Twas that night at Busch Gardens Williamsburg with Ice Creative Entertainment; an experience that expanded my love for performance and storytelling on the ice. It has enriched the way I approach choreography, presentation, and performance quality with my students.
